Mission Partner Update - The Mayers, July 2025

When God called Cru into being in 1951, (back then it was called Campus Crusade for Christ), Bill and Vonette Bright formed a 24- hour "prayer chain". For weeks and months, Christians invested 15 minutes a day praying for the Lord to move in the hearts of college students at the University of California at Los Angeles. God heard these prayers, He touched hearts, hundreds of college students put their faith in Jesus and they began walking with Him. 74 years later, the Lord is still listening. We want to keep fervently praying for the young future leaders of the world.

A couple of weeks ago we returned from "Cru25", our biennial Cru staff conference where 4,000 US staff gathered in Milwaukee to hear how God is at work around the world. He is using global Cru to reach people in over 190 countries with the gospel, partner with churches, and build disciples of all nations. 

During the conference, we were challenged by our Campus Ministry Executive Director to recognize that God is "on the move" everywhere, and we need to join in what He's doing through prayer. We were invited to participate in a new 40 day "prayer chain" beginning on August 23. It will culminate on October 1, Cru's 74th anniversary. We plan to participate in this experience and we'd love for you to join with us. During this time we want to thank Jesus for the victory that's already been won, and to intercede for the hearts and minds of the young women and men walking on campuses in the US and abroad. This is a unique spiritual moment! God is doing something significant on college campuses around the globe and we want to engage with Him through prayer to participate in His work. Please join with us in praying for this upcoming school year ... 

PRAYER REQUESTS 

For Amy at KSU and co-directing the Coastal South Region campuses - Please pray for ...

- KSU's staff team: Unity, wisdom, stamina, and protection from the enemy during these crazy first weeks. And that there would be much spiritual fruit.

- Student Leader Retreat (Aug. 14&15). Please pray that our student leaders would connect well with the Lord, each other, and our mission and purpose.

- Wisdom as she coaches Team Leaders on multiple campuses in the Coastal South region.

- The Class of 2029 (Can you believe it?!) That many would understand the gospel message, come to Jesus, and plug into our movement.

For Paul and "GAP" (Greater Asia and Pacific} area of the world - Please pray for ... 

- New open doors for missions in some of the hardest-to-reach people groups on earth.

- International Briefing Conference in Minneapolis (Aug. 12-18) That our international campus missionaries going to Asia and Oceania would be well prepared and relying on the Lord.

- Mongolia Partnership Trip (Aug. 23-31) Please pray for Paul as he travels to Mongolia to integrate the US campus ministry with the Mongolia ministry to help reach East Asia for Jesus.
