Soul Care Story - Kellie Glenn

Posted April 17, 2024

In 2020 my dad's mental health began spiraling into significant depression and anxiety which has continued to decline, but he will not accept that he is experiencing a mental illness.  I've always been close to my dad, but I no longer can have that kind of relationship with him. I knew I needed a therapist to help me through this season of stress and hopelessness.  I reached out to so many therapists and because that field is flooded with need, no one was accepting any new clients.

One day while in church, they talked about Soul Care from the stage and right then, in church, I sent an email to inquire.  The very next day I had someone reach out to talk, and I was connected to an amazing Soul Care Minister. Soul Care Ministers are not therapists, but she was BETTER than a therapist. Having Godly counsel and someone who was able to walk me through scriptures and point to Jesus was exactly what I needed.

God used Soul Care to bring me deliverance and a stronger walk with him. I've been able to let go of things that I've tried to fix but are beyond my control.  I can receive a call from my dad without feeling anxious.  I am able to share with others who deal with similar struggles what God has done for me.

I really thank God for Soul Care. I am still working on these things, but I am now aware of them and have the spiritual resources I need to recognize when anxiety or worry tries to rule my thoughts and behavior.
