Mission Trip FAQs
Where will the team stay? Is it safe?
The team will stay at Medical Missions Ministries (MMM) in Guatemala City. It is a very safe compound in a gated community. The compound is surrounded by a wall within the gated community and is very secure. Team members are never "on their own" outside of those walls. We always travel in groups and with MMM staff. The accommodations are comfortable and modern.
What does the trip cost include?
The trip cost includes airfare, ground transportation, travel day expenses, travel medical insurance, meals, room and board at MMM, and a team t-shirt.
Is there a trip deposit and when is it due? When should the trip be paid in full?
A deposit of $120 will be due at the first training meeting on February 4, 2024. The total amount for the trip is due by May 22, 2024.
What vaccinations are required for the trip?
There are no required vaccinations for entering Guatemala. Please discuss health concerns with your physician before planning a trip. CDC's suggested vaccinations for travel to Guatemala
What will the team be doing?
On Monday - Thursday of the trip the Fellowship team will accompany the MMM medical ministry staff to towns outside of Guatemala City. Clinics are set up in a local church for the day where our team will help with different tasks. These tasks include; setup/cleanup of the clinic stations, triage (recording BP, heart rate, etc), showing patients to the doctor stations, assisting the pharmacist, praying and sharing with patients, and running VBS-style lessons and games for the kids at the clinic.
