Baptism

Turning from sin and trusting in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is the most important decision you will ever make. After making your personal commitment to submit your life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, an important next step in your spiritual journey is to be obedient in believer’s baptism.

Baptism is one of the ordinances that we observe at Fellowship. We do not believe that baptism saves a person — only faith in the finished work of Jesus saves us (Acts 4:12). We DO believe the baptism is an important step of obedience in the life of the Jesus follower.

We believe Baptism clearly demonstrates Three primary realities:

1. External and Public Sign of Faith (Acts 2:38,41, 8:12-13, 18:8, 19:4-5: Romans 6:3-4)

2. Display’s union with Jesus body, the Church (Acts 2:37-39; 1 Corinthians  12:12-13; Galatians 3:26-27; Ephesians 4:1-6)

3. Follows Jesus’ example (Matthew 3:13-17) and command (Matthew 28:19).
