Mission Partner Update - Each1 Feed1, November 2024

Posted November 21, 2024

Dear Friends of Each1 Feed1,

Did you know that only 60% of children who complete primary school in Kenya go on to secondary school? Can you imagine if 40% of students failed to go past the 8th grade here in the United States?

There are many factors that can affect a child's ability to continue their education past the 8th grade in Kenya...

Gender: Fewer girls than boys complete secondary school (Secondary School is like High School: 9th-12th grade here in the U.S.) due to factors like early marriage, teenage pregnancy, poverty, and lack of mentorship.

Location: There are twice as many youth attending secondary school in urban areas compared to rural areas, such as Tharaka-Nithi.
Socioeconomic status: Nine of ten children from poor households will fail to complete 8th grade, which includes many households in poverty stricken Tharaka-Nithi.

OUR WHY!

These girls have grown up at Each1 Feed1...Our heart is to continue to disciple and equip them- a HUGE piece of that is to continue their education into high school, which is called "secondary school" in Kenya. Without assistance from E1F1, they will struggle to continue their education. THEY are "our why" for expanding our campus and building a high school on our campus in Tharaka-Nithi.

It is an honor to partner with you as we continue discipleship and equipping of the next generation through Jesus Christ in Tharaka, Kenya!

"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to HIM be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen."

Ephesians 3:20-21
