Pillars of Personhood Seminar - Georgia Right to Life

Responding to God’s Heart - Investing One Heart at a Time

By Suzanne Guy

Several months ago, my daughter and I had a conversation on a college campus that went something like this:

Young man: “You know I do not agree with this.”

Us: “That is OK. We are so glad you came over. We would love to hear your thoughts.”

Young man: “You would?”

Us, with a smile of gratitude and anticipation: “Very much so.”

Such a simple conversation, but Jesus uses these small beginnings to enter into meaningful conversations. We were engaged in an hour long conversation with this young college man, a card carrying atheist, about the God who made each of us in His image.

So how did we land on this college campus having a multitude of exciting, intense conversations about Jesus and life issues? Georgia Right to Life’s Pillars of Personhood was the vehicle through which God worked to orchestrate these engaging conversations with not just this precious young man, but with many inquisitive, wonderfully opinionated college students.

Pillars of Personhood is Georgia Right To Life’s all day training that educates and equips on the life issues of our day. It is an exciting opportunity for believers to become acquainted with relevant life issues centered on the Biblical truth that we are all made in His image.

High school age and older are invited to attend this seminar on Saturday, November 12, 9am-3pm at Fellowship Bible Church. There is no charge and breakfast, snacks and lunch will be served. Please RSVP by November 8 to .

Pillars of Personhood, created by Dan Becker the former President of George Right to Life (GRTL), is an opportunity to respond to God’s heart for life through this apologetics seminar on the sanctity of life. After this seminar, GRTL makes available for all interested to go onto the Kennesaw State University campus that following Monday. Using the Pillars display we can begin dialogues with college students who are eager to share their thoughts and who so desperately need a space to do so where they encounter truth with the kindness and hope found in Jesus.

Even if you cannot join us on the KSU campus that following Monday, this is an opportunity to hear Biblical truth to stand on with the life issues staring us in the face in 2016. Throughout history, people groups have been dehumanized and this Pillars seminar is a way to Biblically take a look at our past, present and what lies ahead in our future through the lens of God’s heart that ALL are innately priceless.

Caring about life issues and taking action is not a band wagon but is truly responding to God’s heart. With so many issues facing our culture, God is trying to impress upon our hearts that being pro-life is not an event to attend or a bumper sticker to put on one’s car, but rather what it means to be a believer responding to His Heart in a way that demands urgency and action wrapped in His love and hope. Being pro-life is loving so much that we share the gospel of eternal life with all in our paths and that we fight for all who are marginalized and dehumanized in our society as that is the heart of our Savior.

1 Peter 3:15 “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”
